What Is DHT?
If your hair has started thinning, you have probably already done some research and found out that DHT is the #1 cause of hair loss.
But what is DHT?
If your hair has started thinning you have probably already done some research and found out that DHT is a major culprit. But what is DHT you might ask?
Whilst here at Stop and Regrow we call DHT Decreased Hair Thickening because that is what it does, DHT is actually the short name for DiHydroTestosterone, one of the many male hormones or androgens in the body.
Now DHT is not all bad, it is in fact important early in development of the male fetus. As an adult however, is when too much DHT starts to cause issues. It is linked to prostate enlargement, acne, hair growth in the ears, nose and on the back, oily scalp and excessive sweating and fatigue as well as male pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia. There are many studies which show that a reduction in DHT levels provides benefits, in particular by reducing hair loss and the incidence of both enlarged prostate and prostate cancer.
Dr Nettles has found that in relation to male pattern baldness, DHT shortens the growing phase of the hairs, progressively miniaturizing the hair follicles and decreasing the number of hairs per follicle. Hence our nickname for it of Decreased Hair Thickening.
The most commonly accepted explanation for how DHT actually affects hair growth is that each hair follicle has androgen receptors. Some of us have ones which are sensitive to DHT, ie: DHT binds to them and prevents other nutrients needed for healthy hair growth from being absorbed. The hair follicle then starves and thins, shrinking and over time the hairs which grow from each follicle also thin and miniaturize, eventually becoming peach fuzz before dying completely.
Previously even at the peach fuzz stage there was nothing which could be done except expensive and painful hair transplant surgery. However, Dr Nettles Stop and Regrow personalized solution can, even at the peach fuzz stage, remove the DHT molecules bound to the hair follicle and then provide the right nutrients needed to restart hair growth and to keep it growing healthier and stronger than before.
Dr Nettles personalized hair regrowth treatment is a low cost formula that for those who are eligible, always produces results.
